Chamber awards, gala

Clay Chamber President Jon Cantrell gave the chamber’s President’s Award to outgoing Board Chairman Randy Bowman during the organization’s gala on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Bowman, the general manager of the Orange Park Mall, led the business group’s hiring of Cantrell as president and its move into the Orange Park Town Hall.

Other awards given out during the gala at the Fleming Island Town Event Center were:

The Louis L. Huntley Pacesetter Award was awarded to Karen King and accepted by Andrea Crowder of The Way Free Medical Clinic. The award was presented by Edith Stickney Huntley, daughter of the late Louis Huntley.

The Business Excellence of the Year Award went to Garber Automall. Zach Swarthout accepted the award on behalf of the dealership.

The Chairman’s Leadership Award went to David Kleink;

A Special Chairman’s Honor and Appreciation Award was given to Dana Heisler of Mr. Appliance in Orange Park.

Andrea Crowder of The Way Free Medical Clinic won the Community Service Award.

The Ambassador of the Year was Donnay Qualls of Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning.

The Small Business of the Year Award for the Keystone Heights area went to Harold and Natale Gilstrap of Gilstrap & Associates. Accepting for the father-and-daughter team was Keystone Heights City Manager Lynn Rutkowski.

SERVPRO of North Clay County won the Small Business of the Year Award for Middleburg. Tom Hayes accepted the award on behalf of the business.

The Small Business of the Year in Green Cove Springs went to WAY Radio, with Luke Stephens accepting on behalf of the station.

Mike Glickman and Katelyn Toups of Achieve Fitness won the Small Business of the Year Award for Fleming Island.

Heidi Forsythe of Haven Hospice accepted the Small Business of the Year Award for Orange Park.

Dee Dee Robinson of DD Home Realty accepted the Small Business of the Year Award for Oakleaf.
