Clay Chamber: tech helps small businesses compete

The business group cited a U.S. Chamber of Commerce report that said most small business owners believe technology has helped them compete with larger companies.

According to the report, the most prevalent uses of technology in small businesses are social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, which are used by 66% of small businesses. This is followed by accounting software applications used by 56% of small businesses and marketing platforms like Google Ads that are used by 41%. Also cited in the study were point-of-sale tools like Square, productivity tools like Google Workspace, CRM tools like Salesforce, and third-party delivery like applications DoorDash and Uber.

The report also claims that veteran-owned small businesses whose owners are high adopters of technology have been the most successful enterprises since 2020.
