Oakleaf High School evacuated because of mysterious odor

Shortly after 8 a.m., Tuesday, school officials said they sent students to the football stadium due to an undetermined smell on campus. Clay County Fire Rescue found no indications of any gas leak. An hour and a half later, officials said district maintenance had cleared the odor, and the school resumed its regular schedule. They told News4Jax that the odor came from a septic tank leak. “Any students who have left will have their absences excused for today (no note is needed),” the school said.
